Although artificial intelligence (AI) is ramping up the area of its use across many industries, on a global scale, it is still in the primary stages of adoption by most companies. Luckily, there are many leading organizations willing to implement AI into their company’s business functions to experience the benefits it can offer. We’ve gathered the most prominent examples of those market players that are developing hand-in-hand with the advancements in AI.
EOS Data Analytics
EOSDA company leverages AI-powered space data analytics to offer smart solutions for different industries. For instance, its tool Crop Monitoring is designed for farmers and other agricultural industry players to enable precise and reliable fields management. This digital platform utilizes satellite imagery, applying AI algorithms to extract the necessary data for growers, gathering it in one place for remote and smart decision-making. Ultimately, Crop Monitoring offers vegetation data based on 5 vegetation indices for crop health tracking, automatic field zones productivity analysis based on NDVI mapping, weather data (current, historical, and 14-days forecast), convenient field activities tracking, field equipment data , and much more.
Another tool by EOSDA is Forest Monitoring. The platform is analog to Crop Monitoring, only designed with the purpose of enabling sustainable forest management. The software holds tremendous promise for landowners, logging companies, research institutes, and other forest industry players utilizing the power of AI to offer smart deforestation and forest cover change monitoring, thermal anomalies detection for forest fires prevention, water stress monitoring, weather forecast data, etc.
Alphabet
Google’s parent company Alphabet is known for its constant development of advanced tech innovations. For instance, starting as a company’s self-driving technology division, Waymo today is a project ready to upend the self-driving technology. The goal is not just to drive people around but to reduce the probability of crashes. Waymo autonomous vehicles are already operating in California providing riders with self-driving cabs.
Another successful example of AI implementation would be the artificial intelligence division of Google called DeepMind. The project has solved a serious scientific issue that has baffled researchers for 50 years. With their newest artificial intelligence program AlphaFold, the researchers have shown that they can predict how proteins fold into three-dimensional shapes. Independent scientists claim the discovery will help researchers understand the mechanisms that cause some diseases and pave the way for synthetic drugs, and more nutritious foods.
Baidu
One of the giants on the Chinese technology market, Baidu, is worldwide known for using artificial intelligence in many ways. The company announced the release of a new artificial intelligence system designed to investigate fundus defects that can lead to vision loss. Called the AI Fundus Camera, this solution can be used as a screening tool to detect three types of fundus diseases. The new AI-powered camera captures the retina of the eye and generates a screening report. According to the company, this photo can be taken without the participation of a doctor.
The company also has an AI-powered tool called Deep Voice that needs less than 4 seconds of audio to copy voice. This technology is used to create a books-reading tool that is able to playback text in the author’s voice automatically, no recording studio required.

Amazon
Like Google, Amazon owns its own research labs and invests in AI development. Amazon’s strategy is to integrate AI technology into all of its products. Amazon AI Labs is engaged in research into natural language processing, computer vision, expert and recommender systems. The company was one of the first to use AI to develop recommendations for its products.
Today, in addition to recommendation algorithms, Amazon is focused on the development of the voice assistant Alexa, Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud services, and providing the market with off-the-shelf machine learning software solutions from various vendors. Being one of the world’s biggest online trade platforms, the company also offers a convenience store concept called Amazon Go allowing stores to utilize AI for tracking the items buyers pick up and automatically charge them for those through the mobile app.
IBM
IBM has never lagged behind tech innovation, including AI advancements. The company’s latest and most discussed artificial intelligence accomplishment has the name Project Debater. This AI-powered cognitive computing engine is able to compete against two professional debaters and frame strong, human-like arguments.
According to the company’s engineers, the main goal of the project is to create a system that can formulate unbiased arguments based on data. The algorithm will complement the functionality of the IBM Watson supercomputer, which provides AI services for business. IBM Watson is already able to diagnose cancer and select treatment schemes for cancer patients more effectively than experienced doctors, independent studies claim.
Tencent
Chinese tech giant Tencent has long been incorporating artificial intelligence into its operations with its wide reach to mobile payments, gaming, cloud storage, live streaming, and much more. The company has currently teamed up with national astronomical observatories to get into space exploration using artificial intelligence. Tencent is best known for its WeChat messaging service and very healthy gaming structure, but it also operates a decent cloud and is increasingly investing in AI through its own AI research branch, YouTu Lab.
AI in Different Industries
AI is a powerful tool that can help provide advanced understanding across many industries, covering transport management system, healthcare, and finances, effectively gathering and analyzing huge amounts of data with high precision. When used with another tech it can help research issues and develop solutions that seemed impossible before.
Thanks to advanced automation possibilities, AI holds great promises in of improving efficiency and cost-saving. And it can do much more. But how quickly and efficiently intelligent systems will be introduced into our lives depends on specific projects and tasks. Of course, artificial intelligence is not immune to errors and external factors. Therefore, people will continue to make important decisions and be responsible for them, but with the help of smart machines and programs, people will be able to work faster, smarter, more efficiently, and make their lives more comfortable and safer.
