Have New Laptops Replaced TVs? 2o2n5e

A crude version of the television was developed in the 1920s but by the 1950s it became a household must-have. Before then, people would sit around the radio and listen to music or stories told by radio announcers. As many will know, the television has come very far since the 50s, going from big, clunky CRT screens to today’s thin and sleek-lined widescreen TVs. LCD and plasma screens became all the rage back in the early 2000s, with everyone wanting a bigger and better screen for a much lower price than was previously available in the 70s, 80s, and 90s.  z4x59

The case for smaller technology  ow16

These days you can buy an impressive TV for your living room or bedroom and it doesn’t have to break the bank. However, in these days of portable technology, people are relying more and more on their smartphones and laptops to get their entertainment and world information. From the 1980s big cumbersome laptops to the small light and vastly superior laptops we have today, it is appreciated that this technology can do what we could only dream of in the past. Laptops are great for traveling, for example, with people nowadays being able to work online in any corner of the world provided that internet is available.

Anything can be done online these days ranging from streaming movies and TV shows to connecting with loved ones on the other side of the globe, and even checking out something random such as the Australian Federal Election odds, what the weather is like in Iceland, or how much an adult polar bear weighs. There is no limit to what you can do, given the right technology and location.

Are laptops replacements for TVs? 3r341n

So have laptops replaced TVs? The answer is yes and no. If you prefer to stay home and watch films or play videos games, then a TV and sound system is going to be a priority for your downtime. Some people cannot go to the cinemas these days, but having a 65-inch TV in your living room means that you can enjoy a cinematic experience at home without the hassle of sticky floors and someone kicking the back of your seat.

Sometimes though, you want to retreat to your bedroom and curl up on your bed and watch a TV series on your laptop in comfort, knowing you can switch it off at any time and go to sleep. For the working travelers out there, laptops are a must. At the very least, some places around the world have limited channels on their TV networks that are not available in your language so your laptop becomes your haven. You can work productively from it in the comfort of your hotel room or local café or you can relax by the pool and watch a film while having a drink and soaking up the sun.

The main advantage of having a laptop is portability. You can take it anywhere you go and do whatever you need to do on it as opposed to a standard TV which, as we could all agree on, is not worth hulking around if you are traveling. Laptops have become a major player when it comes to entertainment and work, but it seems too early to write the conventional television as a standard form of entertainment just yet.
